Artificial Intelligence in Cardiology: Expanding the Diagnostic Potential of the ECG

The ECG has long been read for rhythm and basic morphology, yet it encodes far richer physiological information than routine interpretation captures. This talk examines how artificial intelligence is unlocking that hidden diagnostic potential — extending ECG analysis beyond arrhythmia detection to structural and systemic disease — and what rigorous clinical validation demands to bring these capabilities into everyday practice.
